We picked this chair over others because it said it was made in the USA. Not true. While it was designed in the US, it is actually made in China.

The P’Kolino “Little Reader Chair” was advertised by Amazon.com as being made in the USA. I was disappointed to receive the item to find out it is actually designed in the United States and made in China. Not surprising, but my intention was to purchase an item that was actually manufactured in our country. I would appreciate accurate advertising. The Amazon.com product feature is completely misleading.

We were looking for a chair for our toddler and this seemed to fit the bill. $70 seemed like a lot to pay for foam covered with microfiber, but, since it said “made in the USA”, we decided to support local industry and go for it.

Well, GUESS WHAT??? The listing is WRONG and it’s actually made in China.

    Amazon listing:

    Product Features

    Color Name: Red

    Wide base for extra stability

    Beautiful stain resistant suede fabric

Light weight so children can move

    Made in the USA

Storage on the sides for books

Although it is marketed deceptively with regard to country of origin, it’s a nice enough chair and just the right size. The pockets are a very nice feature and the fabric is quite stain-resistant. The negatives are the made-in-China bit, and ours pitches forward a bit, probably several degrees, but enough to put our little one slightly off balance, so when she tries to stand up, she tips forward to fall. It would be more secure if it was pitched backwards instead.

If you don’t mind paying a very high price for yet another “made in China” kids product. But, there are lots of other toddler chairs out there that were made in China, too, and they cost significantly less.

This is a great chair, the perfect size and very sturdy. Since it’s made out of foam, it’s light enough to move easily from place to place. We got it for Christmas for our 17-month-old baby, so he’s a little younger than the recommended 2 years. He hasn’t quite warmed up to it yet (he’s used to sitting on the floor), but he has sat himself in it and seems to find a chair his size an interesting concept! I would have given it five stars, but I believe it’s a smidge overpriced. We did get free shipping on it, so that mitigated the price a little and made me happier about the purchase. I believe we’ll get years of use from the Little Reader Chair!

also hard to get over the price for it. My 17-month old really seems to like sitting in it, and so far it works well. The product info said it was spot clean, but there is a zipper on the back, which I think will let me take it off to wash.

She is average size and it seems to be pretty snug when she sits in it so I am wondering how long she will be able to fit in it. The foam it is made of is pretty solid though so I don’t think it will lose its shape.

Also, I got the blue one and it wasn’t clear on the picture that it is two different tones of blue. It does match our denim furnitue well though.
